Boxes boxes everywhere!!

That's what I'll be singing again in a week or so... we've got a new house finally! MUCH closer to DP's new work, so we'll hopefully see a lot more of him despite his long hours. I know he misses Finn a lot, especially when we go away every month as well to Brisbane.

Once we are packed and moved I'm going to be knitting like a demon again, I need to upsize Finn's longies for the coming winter- his legs are just that bit too long for last years longies, and he's in need of a jumper or two. Plus I've found the world of lace and intend to knit myself a few pretties to feel special through another cold Sydney winter. Compared to Brisbane I froze last winter, so I intend to be more prepared this year!

Finn's 2nd Birthday passed this week and I can tell you I'm so darn clucky! He's such a handful, but I'm really pining for that newborn smell, snuggles, and best of all - teeny tiny newborn nappies and knits! Finn was certainly spoiled again this year, and he loved the attention at his party and the "toot-toot" Thomas train was a big hit as well as all his lovely gifts.
Unfortunately the special Thomas Balloon had a "daddy accident" and got hooked on the verandah the following day and was set free, amid lots of tears from Finn.

On the store front, things have slowed down a fair bit. Trips away, break-ins, tiling jobs and one naughty little terrible Two year old have all conspired against us to keep sewing at bay.
Tiling is now complete, Master Finn is starting to behave a little better now his athsma has cleared and he's sleeping a bit better, insurance is all underway and we will be in our new house in just over 2 weeks.

I'm working on a new range for Daddle Doo - "Finnspired Designs" and this will be launched in the next week and encorporates my knitting passions.

We are also looking into getting another WAHM to help us with sewing and keep up with all the emails and custom requests that have been hitting the email in the last few months.

Once I work out the piccy posting on this blog too- I'll get up some previews of things in the making for the store.

Ok, I'm off to make some headway into Finn's BFL longies as the chill has suddenly hit Sydney this week and they are sorely needed.

Long time, no Blog!

ohh boy, I started this blog and then prompty got very busy and haven't had time for an update!

Since the store launch Finn has been into hospital for a preseptal celiulits (sp) behind his eye, which is not too scary, but requires IV antibiotics so it doesn't spread into the brain behind the eye.
Simple.... yes until you get Rotavirus gastro from the emergency section of the hospital.... and then mummy gets it too! YUK....

After all that and a few other illnesses I think we are finally through winter, touch wood.

So now Anneke has been sewing like mad and has gotten together a full stocking on her own as our bamboo supply was delayed so I couldn't help from Sydney at all this time.

On top of all this Finn has promptly toilet trained and is semi-dry at night!! All before hitting 20months. So there goes my main nappy testing bum.

Perfect though as we've been working on our new pocket toilet training pants and finally have an appropriate tester.

Our new side snapping AI2's are up and running and pocket TT pants are not too far away.

Finally we are desperately hoping for a move back to Brisbane before the end of the year, but now that is looking less and less likely *cry*. I don't want to spend another summer in Sydney without my family. I've got everything crossed that the move will still eventuate in the next 8 weeks.

Hopefully it won't be so long before the next post and I work out how to put some pictures in here too!

Leading up to 22nd June....

Well, the countdown has begun. This Sunday 22nd June Daddle Doo Nappies finally goes live on WAHMNaps.
I almost launched this Sunday the 15th, but thank goodness I didn't as it would have been a nightmare. DP came down with Bronchitis and ended up home for 4 days, and Finn's been pretty needy since we are starting to wean him off day feeds.

Today I've had my skates on, cleaning like mad and organising the house... it's like nesting before having a new baby I think. And that's exactly how I feel about Daddle Doo... it's my new baby and I'm so frightened and excited at the same time.

So that's it for now... and hopefully the first of many blog posts from the wacky world of Hailey and Daddle Doo!
